Ronin 2 Lettering a Comic Book Page w/ Illustrator

So how does The Ronin comic book get lettered? Letterer and designer Sean Glumace recorded the process of lettering page 12 of The Ronin issue 2 (and sped it up a bit). NOTE: THIS IS NOT A TUTORIAL, just a quick capture to show you the process of lettering. If you would like in depth tutorials visit http://letteringcomics.com/ Using Adobe Illustrator he takes the dialog from the script and sets the type on the page, creating new word balloons for speech and on this page whispering, and making sure all of it flows on the page. After creating the lettering in Illustrator he brings it into Adobe InDesign to put the final artwork together with it. To finish it off the book is exported to PDF.

Comic book lettering involves putting in all the words on a comics page, as well as the balloons or borders around them, any signs, titles or sound effects, and sometimes panel borders. (From Todd Klien https://kleinletters.com/LetteringTop.html
